Preparing for your session

In Person

Your first therapy session can be daunting. There are many ways you can make it a positive experience.

Firstly, be kind and give yourself credit; you´ve taken an essential first step. Set realistic goals; your counsellor will work with you to define achievable objectives.

Finally, set time aside before and after the session to prepare and reflect; this process is about you, so we recommend giving yourself the time and space you need to move forward.

Online

Now that you’ve taken the first step in booking your session, preparing to get the most out of it is essential.

Select a comfortable space from which to attend your virtual session, somewhere that provides the privacy you need.

Make notes of anything you want to discuss with your counsellor and any initial questions you may have. Finally, be prepared to set up follow-up appointments to continue on your healing journey.
