Mackenzie Smith

Intern Counsellor, she/her

Mackenzie is completing her internship and is excited to be continuing on at Lynn Valley Counselling.  She has lived all over Canada and recently settled back in Vancouver to complete her MC of Counselling.

Mackenzie believes everyone has a unique and innate resilience though, at times, it might not feel that way.  As a counsellor, her clinical work is rooted in curiosity, non-judgment and collaboration. She aims to create a safe and welcoming environment for clients to explore their experiences using somatic techniques, parts work, humour, compassion and other strength based approaches.

With her Beginner Somatic Experiencing complete she is eagerly awaiting her advanced training beginning this fall. With a drive to supporting clients through their healing journeys she is also training in Janina Fisher’s Trauma Informed Stabilization Treatment (TIST).

She specializes in working with individuals facing self-esteem challenges, relationship issues, feeling stuck, anxiety, depression, grief, and loss.
