About Lauren

Lauren is a calm, grounded counsellor who supports clients with a variety of concerns including difficult relationships with body, food and exercise; personal change; life transitions; and grief. She has grown up all over Canada and feels lucky to have landed in this beautiful area as an uninvited settler. Comedy, music and food are a few of her favourite things.

Lauren is coming to counselling as her second career and currently works as an Occupational Therapist working with clients with eating disorders. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy and is registered with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC).

Approach to Counselling

Lauren aims to provide a collaborative and trauma informed approach. She offers a space to question cultural norms and open up inner wisdom while also believing in the healing power of humour.

Lauren brings in aspects of mindfulness  and mindfulness based approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and self-compassion while holding that the relationships with clients are most important. Her experience and perspective as an Occupational Therapist allows her to see the whole person and the larger systems that can disrupt well-being. She is also interested in existential and somatic approaches.

Schedule

Lauren is taking new clients for both in person and virtual sessions on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Please check the booking site for availability.
