About Emma

Emma McLellan is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and the founder/clinical director of LVC. Her clinical services include counselling for individuals and couples, from teenage-hood to adulthood. Emma works with a variety of concerns, including Depression, Anxiety, Stress, Relationships, Workplace Struggles, Life Transitions, Self-Esteem/Body Image, Violence Against Women, and Grief and Loss.

Emma was born and raised in Lynn Valley and she is honoured to be back on the North Shore. She hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and conducted her thesis on the individual and relational impacts of child loss on parents. She also has previous experience working with women who have experienced emotional, physical, and sexual violence.  Emma is passionate about her work and is a strong advocate for social justice and brings a feminist, anti-oppressive approach to her practice.

Approach to Counselling

Emma strives to create a safe space by meeting you where you are and working collaboratively with you. When working with Emma, you can expect to find a calming space to talk and work through your concerns. She believes in the connection of the mind and the body and works with you to achieve mindfulness and intention in your life.

Emma practices Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) and Attachment Therapy. She also draws from various therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Gestalt Therapy and the Gottman Method Couples Counselling, in order to tailor your sessions to your unique needs.
