1. What inspired you to pursue a career in counselling?
I was inspired to pursue a career in counselling by my passion for helping others navigate their challenges and find their strengths. Seeing the positive impact that empathy, patience, and understanding can have on individuals’ lives motivated me to become a counsellor. Additionally, I have always been curious about how different environmental factors can impact each person so uniquely, which deepened my interest in understanding and supporting individuals through their diverse experiences.
2. What aspects of your practice ignite your passion the most?
The aspect of my practice that ignites my passion the most is being able to provide a unique space tailored to each individual’s needs. Holding this space for them allows clients to be vulnerable without fear of judgment, fostering a sense of safety and trust.
3. How would you describe your guiding principles and methodology in your practice?
My guiding principles in practice are centered around empathy, respect, and collaboration. I believe in creating a non-oppressive, inclusive environment where clients feel safe and understood. Additionally, I prioritize building a strong therapeutic alliance, as I believe that the trust and connection between client and counsellor are crucial for effective therapy.
4. Tell us a little bit about what you like to do outside of work!
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with people who bring me comfort, skiing during winters, and watching documentaries.
